Muller Volkstedt HP Colonial Courting Couple Figurine Group Circa 1895 - 1927
Very nice porcelain figurine group of a courting couple dressed in Colonial / Georgian clothing. The girl has blonde hair with a blue ribbon, blue eyes, and is wearing a white and turquoise dress with pink, blue and yellow floral encrustation. The man has darker blonde hair, blue eyes, and is wearing a yellow & gold gilt coat with green lining, an orange waistcoat with gold trim, and blue pants. Floral encrusted yellow and pink roses on the base. With gold gilt rings and flowers around the base. Marked on the bottom in blue with the crown and shield mark with a SV inside and an M next to it. This mark was used by E. & A. Muller between 1895 and 1927.
The man has had his fingers broken off at one time and glued back on. The pointer finger on that hand is missing. The man has a repair to other hand as well. Also has some very minor flakes to the floral encrustation, which is typical of this style of decoration. Does not appear to have any other damage.
Measures approximately 7 1/4 inches wide x 9 1/4 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
