Hand Painted Chalkware Venus Entering Her Bath Nude 14 3/4 Inch Figurine Statue
Nice Mid Century chalkware figurine / statue on a gilt pedestal base with acanthus leaf designs. She is hand painted with blonde hair and a blue sheet. The figurine depicts Venus Entering Her Bath and is based on a figurine / statue by Christopher Gabriel Allegrain (France 1710-1795). Unmarked.
She has some paint loss and some flakes to the back of the top of her hair, some paint loss and flakes to her back, a small spot of paint loss to one of her knees, and several flakes and larger spots of loss to the blue sheet and several spots of flakes and small spots of paint loss to the pedestal base. She also has a scratch on her back.
Measures approximately 3 3/4 inches wide x 14 3/4 inches tall.
